Office of Emergency Management

The Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is responsible for coordinating and managing the overall emergency management program for a county. This includes planning for and responding to emergencies and disasters, such as natural disasters, technological hazards, and public health emergencies.

The OEM works with a variety of organizations, including local government agencies, non-profit organizations, and volunteer groups, to develop and implement emergency plans and procedures. The OEM also plays a key role in coordinating the response to emergencies and disasters, including activating and managing emergency response teams and coordinating the provision of emergency services, such as evacuations, shelter, and medical assistance.

In addition to responding to emergencies and disasters, the OEM is also responsible for promoting emergency preparedness within the community. This may include providing information and resources to help individuals and families prepare for emergencies, conducting drills and exercises to test and evaluate emergency response plans.
